Is your car up to date?
Enter your 17-character VIN — we query the federal safety-recall database live, the same one manufacturers report to. Checking takes ten seconds, and if an open recall comes up, we handle the whole process for you.
Whatever the result, you leave with a plan.

Open recall? We manage the whole process — verification, the dealer appointment, the paperwork and the follow-through. The manufacturer’s repair is free at the franchised dealer; making it happen without eating your week is our job.
A recall exists for one of two reasons: the vehicle breaks a Federal safety standard, or it carries a safety-related defect — a problem that poses an unreasonable risk and can exist across a whole group of cars of the same design. NHTSA draws the line clearly:
On the left, the manufacturer must fix it free. On the right, it is maintenance — and that is our daily work.
Repair, replacement or refund — the manufacturer chooses how, but you never pay for the safety fix itself.
Owners are notified by first-class mail within 60 days of a recall. But mail follows old addresses. A VIN check misses nothing.
If you repaired the defect before the recall existed, reimbursement can reach back to one year before the manufacturer notified NHTSA. Documentation is required — keep your receipts, and we will help you file.
The free remedy is guaranteed for vehicles no more than 15 years old when the defect is determined, counted from the first sale. Older cars are often still covered voluntarily — and should be fixed either way.

Most recalls begin with owners like you reporting a problem. NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation then works in five steps:
Your step zero takes ten seconds: check your VIN above.
Notifies registered owners by first-class mail within 60 days of the recall decision — and must offer a proper remedy for the defect.
Monitors every safety recall to make sure owners actually receive safe, free and effective remedies, as the Safety Act requires.
You are notified by mail — and the official advice is simple: register your vehicle and check recalls twice a year. When a notice arrives, follow its interim safety guidance and get the part fixed, free.
And us? Alfa Garage sits on your side of this table — we run the VIN check, read the campaign with you, document everything and help you claim what the manufacturer owes you.
We run your VIN against factory campaigns, verify open recalls, and apply software updates and technical service bulletins to the factory standard — no dealer visit required.
Open recalls are repaired free by the manufacturer — but someone has to find them first. We check, we document, and we help you file the claim so the work gets done right.
